What are you thankful for?
Being an American school, Graded celebrates the classic American tradition, Thanksgiving, by hosting a popular annual fundraiser on campus. The holiday dates back to after the harvest of 1621, when the pilgrims shared a multi-day meal with members of the Wampanoag tribe. Different from the menu at that First Thanksgiving, Graded serves typical modern fare: turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and, of course, pumpkin and apple pies. This year’s Thanksgiving celebration was a great success. Even while volunteering in the cafeteria, a friend and I just couldn’t wait to finish our shift so that we could dive into the famous pies that—unfortunately—are only served once a year. As always, we are thankful for the staff and volunteers who did a magnificent job in cooking up the meal, and they even made extras to take home for those who had not ordered on time. Now, as the official Thanksgiving date arrives this week, on Thursday, November 27, what are you thankful for?
