Science rules!
Science is part of our daily lives, from the tiniest unseen chemical reactions within our bodies to things like cooking. Last semester, the Graded Science and Technology Club was formed, with the goal of teaching students of the lower school through a variety of fun experiments, demonstrations and hands-on activities.
The experiments rage from the classic mixture of baking soda and vinegar to learning about how the color of cabbage changes based on pH. Another recent experiment involved the mixture hydrogen peroxide and detergent with potassium iodide to make a reaction usually referred to as Elephant’s Toothpaste. While the club is at its maximum capacity when it comes to pupils, it can still take on a few more high schoolers who share a passion for science and want to lend a hand.
