The perks of chocolate
Contrary to what some believe, chocolate has health benefits. Those who eat dark chocolate have a lower risk of heart disease and strokes because of chocolate’s flavonols, the antioxidants in many fruits and vegetables that reduce the risk of the disease. Scientists have not yet concluded why flavonols are good for our hearts. However, studies done at Virginia Tech and Louisiana State University have determined that dark chocolate is healthful. A Swedish study also revealed that women who ate more then 45 grams of chocolate a week decreased the risk of stroke by 20%. So, why not eat more chocolate?
