A Burle Marx disaster
From the many signs around school, most of you may know about Burle Marx Park being cut down because developers are going to place commercial and residential buildings in the area. Unfortunately that would mean cutting down 5,564 trees, most of which have already been numbered and are ready to be chopped down. After many years of natural beauty, the park is close to its end. However, you can do something about this! Take a few seconds and sign this petition to stop the park’s destruction.

This really makes me sad. I’d love to get more information about the laws/politics that are involved here. Who owns the land? Was/is the park a private park or state run? Does the petition have a chance?
